The start of the physical universe is really a question that is actually outside the limitations of human comprehending, but here is a story, a metaphor, that can answer that question on the symbolic level. In other terms, this is a conventional religious document, it attempts to put down in words events which are larger than words allow.
Before the beginning of the time, there was just one consciousness. In fact, there may have been a number of other stuff, but that’s way outside our range of understanding here. That consciousness thought and dreamed an infinity of thoughts, landscapes, feelings, and worlds, an infinity of possible creations. These mental creations thought their very own thoughts, and these supplementary thoughts also created their very own inner worlds. The original awareness observed and interacted with those inner beings as they interacted together, and that original consciousness begin to provide the environments necessary for its creations to develop and grow. All of the entities inside the mind of the very first longed to exist independently and develop and create as they had been made.
The first mind, in order to permit its progeny complete freedom of expression, began to picture the conditions that might be required for the release of those inner worlds straight into objective existence. As it did so, all of space, time, and matter, including our world, exploded into being. On the greatest level, this physical existence contains enormous quantities of dimensions as well as environments that match the infinite selection of possibilities that had formed within the mind of the initial consciousness.
This process continues since the progeny of that first mind develop and create brand new thoughts and brand new worlds. We are a direct result of that process, and our goal is ultimately exactly the same: to grow, to develop, and to generate, in order to express all the potentialities within ourselves. We are still in touch with the original mind because we are created from it, we sprang from it, and because time doesn’t have meaning outside the physical universe, our past, present, and future exist together as an infinite variety of possibilities within that larger moment.
What does that mean, an infinite number of possibilities? We are beginning to get some concrete answers to that particular question from our friends the physicists.
